Joe Mansano

Joe Mansano Joe Mansano at Trojan Records. "...After moving to London from his native Trinidad in 1963, Joe Mansano soon made his mark as one of the UK’s leading West Indian music salesmen. By 1968, such was his reputation that he was head-hunted by Trojan to run a store on their behalf and over the years that followed, his Joe’s Records shop in Brixton became the place to buy reggae music in the capital.
A move into record production seemed a natural progression and Joe quickly proved as adept at making music as he was at selling it, creating some of the most sought-after UK Reggae records from the Skinhead era, issued on Trojan’s Blue Cat, Duke and Joe subsidiaries.
Trojan’s demise in the mid-seventies brought about the closure of the shop and in 1980, Joe returned to Trinidad, where he has since resided."
